Aim:

The course is designed to give delegates an awareness of the causes of fire and how to prevent them.  Delegates will learn how to identify the type of fire and then select and use the appropriate fire extinguisher.  The principles of staged evacuation and the correct method of carrying out a systematic search of the premises are included in the syllabus. This course complies with the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005.

  • General fire precautions in the workplace
  • Nature and hazards of fire
  • Human behaviour
  • Action in event of fire
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Selection and operation of appropriate fire fighting appliances
  • Practical fire extinguisher demonstration

1½ hours (Courses can be delivered in the morning, afternoon or evening to suit your needs)
